The Role
CompanyCam is hiring a Data Scientist Intern to join our Data Analytics team for the Summer 2025 session (May 20, 2025 - August 22, 2025)! As a Data Scientist Intern, you’ll get hands-on experience working with real-world data to develop insights and predictive models that impact our business and customers. If you enjoy using analytics tools to solve real-world problems, then this role is for you!
Location: Candidates must permanently and currently reside in Lincoln, Nebraska, or the surrounding metro area. Employees are expected to work in our HQ office in the Haymarket.
What You’ll Do
- Develop machine learning models and statistical analyses to support business and product initiatives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define data-driven questions and hypotheses.
- Clean, transform, and analyze large datasets using Python, SQL, and related tools.
- Assist with A/B testing, customer segmentation, and predictive modeling efforts.
- Present findings and recommendations in a clear, business-friendly manner.
- Explore new data science techniques and tools to improve our analytical capabilities.
What You’ll Bring
- Be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience with Python (pandas, scikit-learn, NumPy, etc.) and SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques and concepts such as regression, classification, clustering, and time series forecasting.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), Snowflake, dbt, or Metabase is a bonus!
- Strong problem-solving skills and curiosity to explore data for insights.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A collaborative and supportive working style that values learning and growth.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A continuous growth-mindset, with a focus on learning, embracing challenges, and continuously improving.
- A knack for creativity and innovation, bringing fresh ideas to the table and solving complex problems.
- Reside currently in Lincoln, NE or the surrounding metro area. Sorry, we're not hiring outside the U.S. at this time even if you're willing to work during U.S. time zones.
Benefits & Compensation
This is an hourly position at CompanyCam. Our starting hourly wage is $19/hour and is based on experience. We also offer meaningful equity and other benefits.
